For the last few months Alex has not let me sing to him at bedtime, or pretty much anywhere else. The only time seems to be in the car on the way to or from nursery, if we're singing nursery rhymes together. When I first asked him why I wasn't allowed to sing he said 'cos you make me cry'... which was rather upsetting, and obviously not true, cos I've never made him cry whilst singing (it's not that bad - honestly!). We left it.
Putting him to sleep after lunch today, he again stopped me singing ' you don't sing Mummy', so I asked why. 'Your mouth hurts'.... Ahh, of course, I must have told him that I had a sore throat or similar, and he hasn't realised that it doesn't hurt anymore, cos I haven't told him, so he was protecting me!!
