allotment news

Well, we've been very good so far. Got the key Friday19th, when Roly when to view it, and we went down last Sunday and today; and Alex and I went on Thursday, on our day off.
Alex has been great about it, he's not tried running off, or traipsing over other plots (although he was very keen to see the Pumpkins on one plot). It's safe and nettle/bramble-free, and so he's been happy to help pull up weeds, do digging, moving soil around, making piles with it, watering things, making muddy puddles, picking beans, helping dig up potatoes and he's taking well to it. And all for £10 a year! We are sharing the shed, because it's on the other half a plot which isn't ours; but we have the huge corrugated-iron compost heap.
1 hour on site is enough for Alex. Which is fine cos it's enough for us too! But because he's keeping himself amused, we can both be productive instead of one becoming a childminder.
