Can you eat too much sand?

Well, our first holiday in a caravan was a success. We went to White Gate caravan park near Saundersfoot (although managed not to actually go to Saundersfoot itself!). The local beach, at Wiseman's Bridge is not very big, but has everything you could need, soft sand, pebbles of all sizes, and rock pools and a few caves too, and a pub if you need it!

It rained as we were on it on Friday afternoon, and continued to rain heavily for most of the evening, but the weather was lovely for the rest of the holiday.

We had Saturday in Tenby; good beach there too, although the ramp/slope to get down to it is a little treacherous. Alex and Rol built a fort (best word to describe it), and got a lot of admiring glances and comments about it. If you ignore the silly face on Alex.... this is the fort halfway through. By the end, the bit Alex is kneeling on was completely dug out to a depth of 2 foot.

Philippa had a brilliant time, and I gave up trying to stop her eating the beach, cos it was clear she wasn't going to. I think she's stopped pooing out sand now...

We went to Folly Farm for the first time on Sunday, meeting friends there, and had a really good day. There was even a baby zebra, which was less than a week old! And 5 giraffes!
