Wow! One little pea plant has showed up at the allotment. Alex and I planted them back in November, and they've taken so long to show that I did wonder whether they ever would...but of course it's been pretty cold and frost y down here, much more like how it should be in winter. So hopefully lots of bugs will have been killed off properly this year. The black mulch sheeting we bought last week has now been spread across much of the soil we've already dug to keep to the weed seeds down.
The fruit bushes will have to be dug out soon, because there is bindweed riddled through the roots. Then our autumn fruiting rasp from home can be re-located.
