Well, we were supposed to go up north last weekend, but didn't in the end, cos my Mum's got shingles, and we didn't want to expose him to that, in case he gets Chicken Pox again. Just as well, cos he's gone down with spots anyway! Probably a viral infection (says GP), but it doesn't look nice, and it's itchy, and his face is puffy. So it's been a quiet few days.
But we did still go away, on saturday. We decided that we'd jsut spend one night away, not too far, so we chose Weston-super-Mare. Drove down just b4 lunch Sat, and had a play on the beach, which Alex loved so much. (so did Daddy actually). Eve meal in the Beefeater next to the hotel. Alex only just fitted into the cot they provided, and he couldn't really stretch out fully...
Sunday, we'd planned to go swimming in the Leisure centre next door, but the 'flashy machines' were calling on the sea front, so we went to play on the Tuppenny falls, and Daddy won Alex a car (and 5 keyrings, and 2 bracelets - yip, more junk), which Alex promptly brummed along the floor, and underneath a nearby machine!
Then we drove down to near Watchet, where my cousin Will and his wife Alex live, and had a lovely lunch with them, and went for a walk in a nearby village. I think (our) Alex was starting to go downhill then, cos he wouldn't eat his lunch, and was really clingy for the walk, fell asleep pretty soon after getting in the car, and then slept for a solid 14 hours!!
Would you belive it- the Severn Bridge fee has just gone up again, so you have to pay £5.30 to get back into Wales now. They've collected £684m off that/those bridges - I'm sure it didn't cost that to build, so why do they keep putting up the price - surely now it should be going down again. £4 would be quite enough.
