You never know

Ok, so we knew that Roly's company were planning on sending him to Scotland, but NEXT week, after he'd had a week back at work after being away singing last week.... Hmmm. He got into work yesterday, emailed me at 8.50am to say, they're sending me up tomorrow! Nothing like a bit of notice! So he spent the day getting a laptop etc sorted to take with him, while they sorted the flight and hotel and hire car, and I quietly panicked. No, not really, but it was quite hard to accept he'd be away again, and this time Granny couldn't come down to help out.

They very kindly booked him on the 0650 flight from Cardiff airport to Edinburgh, meaning he had to get up at 5am, to leave at 5.30 in a taxi to get there in enough time. Thankfully all went well, he slept through the whole flight, and had a busy day. He did however, forget to take the instructions on how to get to the hotel with him, so rang at 7.30 to ask me to read them out from the piece of paper he'd left behind. So everything seems ok for the moment, if a little quiet....

The other interesting (well, to me) development is 'the training of the cats'. My dear 2 cats, like most of their breed, like, well maybe love, sharpening their claws on the edges of sofas. Apparently 'it feels goooood'. (according to website I read t'other day) Cheers. One wrecked sofa. I gave up trying to stop them. Bad move. Lovely mummy (see previous post) has just donated her 2 old sofas. Happy cats. More places to scratch.

No, actually, no not at all. There is now double-sided tape on both sofas, which will be extended to all 8 corners in the next few days. And their previously ignored 'proper' scratching post', has now had Catnip Spray applied (courtesy of Ebay, and a super fast seller), and they have now been fighting over who's going to rub themselves up it first!! I've also put it in the kitchen away from sofas, so they don't accidentally just swap from one to the other. Hurrah!
