Alex can now move along furniture whilst holding onto it, to collect whatever item is in sight, eg the remote control, as it was this afternoon. He's a little bit shaky doing this, but from only 2 steps 2 days ago, to moving along most of the sofa today, he's building confidence fast. He's also discovered the ability to climb the stairs as well, with a guiding hand behind him, but he's got the 'one knee up, other foot up, stand up, and keep going' idea.
We had a sticky moment this afternoon, when we left Alex with Lynne and Ced, so we could put the new bit of skirting board onto the wall, behind where the new shelves will go. (the decorator would have done it, if we'd decided in time that's what we wanted). Roly discovered he didn't have the know-how or the tools, so we called in our neighbour, Gareth, who did a pretty fab job, and went home with a bottle of wine in thanks.
Went to a local Farm Park, where it didn't rain, unlike last visit to similar. Alex's face was a picture when he started seeing the animals. He saw rabbits and guineapigs first, and his eyes were like saucers in amazement. He stayed amazed whilst seeing chickens, goats, pigs, sheep, the cow, peacocks, horses, a lama, and only started smiling when Roly started the sheep baaing back at him. I took him out of the pushchair then and let him pat the horses, which he loved.
His favourite bit was actually the ride on toys near the end, and there was a real tractor which you could sit on, so he did, with Daddy.
